Droid Accessories

Word around the internet has Motorola coming out with some inexpensive accessories for that new Droid you are going to get next week.  The 2 that have been revealed so far (between Moto and China, you know there will be more soon) are the car mount, that looks like nothing more than a GPS suction cup mount, and a desk top cradle.  When placed in either unit the Droid recognizes the accessory and its position (likely through magnets) and turns on the accessory specific function.  For example, in the desktop cradle the phone screen turns into a nice desktop tool showing the time, calendar, temperature, etc.  In the phone cradle a screen thats user friendly for a driver turns on offering that new Google Maps app, etc.  The best part of it all is that they are expected to retail for less than $30 a pop.  Can't wait to see what some others will some up with.....

Droid Promotions - Cards and Codes

Look what someone spied going on at Union Square Park in NYC today around noon...if you can't make it out in the pictures that's one of those crane games you see in arcades.  A line of people formed and you got two chances to pick up an egg shaped ball in the booth using the joystick on the crane.  If your crane was able to pick up an egg and drop it in the chute, you won the prize inside the egg.  Someone won a bluetooth earpiece, but we saw a lot of people get nothing.  See the guys in the dark suits?  They all were going for that Men in Black look, dark suits, dark glasses and red sneaker.  OK, that's not MIB but you get the idea. Looks like Verizon is going all out for this hardware.

Pre-order Droid?

There are some threads out there talking about preordering the Droid.  Vzw doesnt seem to support that but it seems Best Buy mobile has announced it although a search of their site doesnt show any such option.  Anyone know where/when/how??

Cards and Codes...

Cards will be handed out by street teams sent out by Verizon.  You then take the codes on the cards and enter them into the Droiddoes website for a chance at winning something.  They should give away some Droids!

As soon as we hear anything about where or when they will be appearing we will post it here.  If any of you hear about it, let us know!
